How to Clean and Condition Your Boots

At Carter's Boots, we take great pride in our meticulous approach to cleaning and conditioning boots. We begin by carefully applying Howard's Leather Cleaner with a small shoe brush, focusing on the dirt and grime that often collects in hard-to-reach areas like the welt. This ensures that every inch of the leather is thoroughly cleaned without damaging its integrity.

Once the boots are spotless, we move on to conditioning. Using a round shoe brush, we apply Howard's Leather Salve, working it into the leather to deeply nourish and restore its natural oils. When working on a lighter colored boot or a leather that is more delicate, we choose to use Howard's Leather Conditioner. We let the conditioner sit for a few minutes, giving it time to fully absorb and hydrate the leather.

Finally, we wipe off any excess with a clean rag, revealing boots that are not only well-maintained but also soft, supple, and ready to take on whatever comes next. This careful process helps extend the life of the boots, keeping them looking great and feeling comfortable for years to come.
